Been a ruff few days.... emergency room and surgery
 

Stomach was not feeling well Wed night, pain worsened over night to unbearable.

Went to reg doctor Thurs morning, she referred me to ER..STAT. She thought it was acute appendicitis

Wrong. After many hours in the ER ct scans and such, the diagnosis was a stunner...
Meckel's diverticulum.. .Affects less than 2% of the population, and it was inflamed... badly. Emergency surgery now. Fortunately, it was laproscopic.



They took out the diverticulum and my appendix while they were in the vicinity. Just made it home about an hour ago.

Needless to say.. ouch ouch ouch ouch.:fan:

Thanks, and my thoughts exactly. The hospital staff was very blunt about their feelings for Mr Obama and his plan..... started with a b and ended with ard....

I took that stuff this Spring after some kidney work and it didn't do much for me. Split the pills in half it might be stronger if you get no pain relief.

Yeah, doc said it was the largest he had ever seen, and that it actuall looked like a very inflamed appendix.

It was a good call by the surgeon, ER doc completely missed the diagnosis.

At least the ER doc took it to the staff surgeon for a second opinion.

Glad to hear you got the correct diagnosis before it got more serious. Hope you feel better soon. As for the drugs, I hope you get more out of them than I do. Half the time they don't even dull the pain, much less give me a warm, fuzzy feeling.

On second thought, I think this whole thing is a vast right wing conspiracy. I know no one could get adequate medical care under this system. You have to wait until 2013 when the joker's plan kicks in!

As a side, i am definately not being used to true down time. No way i am staying home from work for 2-3 weeks. I have to be doing something.

I can pilot a chair at work just as well as pilot the couch at home, and at least it should be somewhat more productive.

Hope you feel better TG. I had my appendix out when I was 22. I had only been out of the Air Force for 2 months. Needless to say, I didn't have insurance. I'm proud to say that I paid for it all, out of pocket. It took me a year or two, but I paid everyone. I went from getting a stomach ache at around 10 a.m. to having emergency surgery at 7 p.m. that evening. Doc said it was ready to burst. Once again, get well soon!

I tell ya, i have a high pain tolerance, and this was by far the worst i have ever experienced. i had never before had enough that it made me nauseous. hopefully will be a long time before that comes around again.
